The Ima

"Ima" (pronounced Eema) is the Hebrew word for Mom.
Every Friday, a little girl in every Jewish preschool classroom gets the honor of being the Shabbat Ima. As you will see, it means you get to light the Shabbat candles, do blessings over wine and bread, wear a scarf that looks like it comes from 1890s Russia and pretend you're married to a boy in your class.

It's AWESOME.

You have to trust me on this because I know first hand. You see, I, too, was a Shabbat Ima at this very same preschool.
